Before the Break

Thursday was one of the funnier things to witness. I had class until 3:15 and met with my teacher to go over a paper before class, since I knew I'd want to zip over and begin the weekend. (He was so happy to meet before class that I began to wonder if he didn't have a large tailgating plan of his own.)

I met Bailey at Trinity, where she was finishing up her shift, and we hung out there and talked with a girl in Bobby's grade who was back visiting, and we just got the low down on her life in New York, naturally trading gossip between the two grades. At around 5 we began our way to Virginia Ave where the house with the 4th year boys would be bumping. We hung out there for a bit, and I hung around with other kids in my grade who were sober as well, as we kept an eye others. I left around 6:30 to see Claire and her boyfriend at the Virginian, so I left the house that was dying down anyway, and hung out with them for a while. I went back to Theta to hangout for a little bit and meet up with people around 12 when they went to bars.. I instead immediately fell asleep at woke up at 1. Here is one of the times when I love living in a house with so many people. I went downstairs and there were about 5 of 6 others--girls and guys--all hanging out, and so I hung out with them until I went back to bed around 2:30. PS: we lost the game.

Friday I hung out with Claire again while her boyfriend was at work, and we got some coffee and perused the downtown mall for a couple hours. Around 4:00 I run into Shannon and some older men on the Corner. They ask if we want to go hangout in their room on the range, since one of the boys is at Darden. I say yes, and we make our way over, the Darden boy, his friend visiting who's a helicopter pilot, Shannon, Jane, Colby, and I. His room was very nice and really well decorated. Additionally, he had an outrageously stocked bar. He began to clear out the table and place 5 bottles of wine in front of us. I figured things would get awkward if I didn't take a glass and was then asked 10 minutes later why I wasn't drinking, so I thought it smarter to make a point of saying "no thank you" to the wine, citing the fact that I was still terribly hungover from the day before. Everyone bought that and carried on with the charades, except for Shannon, who gave me a look that was confused at first, then turned to understanding when she put the pieces together. Anywho, the night ended up being very fun.

I left the Range at 7:00 to meet up with Andrew Harrington, who had come into Charlottesville for the night with a friend. (I know--so many people visiting!). It was supposed to be with Chanler and Nat, but Nat had football practice, and I frankly do not know where Chanler was. Dinner ended and I figured I would bring Andrew back to Theta so he could find Nat and I could go off to a Zete party they were having at a newly opened bar/club. Apparently, though, when a bar is new, ABC is out patrolling (Alcohol Beverage Control). So about five people got arrested for using fake IDs or drinking underage. I have a very good fake ID for when I need it, but I'll be damned if I was risking to get arrested when I wasn't even going to be drinking. I told the bouncers I was going in underage, and they put probably the fattest X's on my hands that I've ever seen... in Sharpie! Relax guys, I'm not going to try to wipe them off. I just hope they know that if I get cancer and die from the ink seeping into my bloodstream, it's on them.

Aside from everything above, nothing else occurred. Some people already left to go home, and so Saturday night didn't have a large event. I drove to Richmond to see Bobby, which is always an easy trip. I am currently typing this as he studies for a BioChemistry test he has tomorrow. Which means that when I finish this I'll end up doing homework of my own. Works out for everyone!
