YAR

This weekend an enormous amount of alumni arrived in Charlottesville for the Homecoming game and weekend. Since the majority of these alumni are one or two years out, the weekend has been come to be known as YAR--young alumni reunions. And so the festivities began Friday night with our older friends.

For those of us still in college, our day started in the early afternoon when we went over to a farm/vineyard for wine tasting with another fraternity. It was at a boy's house and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. We stayed there until about 7 or 8, when the bus started making loops to pick us up. Going out was similar to any other night, only with a lot more alumni present. It was really fun to see all of them, because I think that their grade is so much fun and exciting.

Saturday the Virginia Avenue house had a tailgate with a great band, and on top of all that the weather was absolutely beautiful. Many people didn't make it to the game because we were having to much fun, so we opted to watch it on the TV's at the house. Come 5 Megan and I realized we were getting a little hungry, and since Bailey was working at Trinity at 5 anyway, we figured it would be a nice excuse for a meal. Food was followed by a short nap back in Theta-- we didn't actually sleep but just lounged around until the next event. Nights after games are always a little all over the place, mostly because people are drunk or hungover and don't form a concrete plan. So the main night events are a collection of bars, and then DKE had a late night.

I made it SO much later than I ever that this Saturday night, after I left DKE and hung out with some friends back at Virginia Ave. We were just hanging out, listening to music and eating wings, but before I knew it the sun was coming up and so I dragged myself home and promptly fell asleep. I think it was because it was a low key scene it made it easier to stay awake. Sometimes at loud parties with drinks being splashed on you it exhausts you a little bit because you keep thinking how you could be in bed. I however, wasn't overwhelmed or annoyed by where I was and thus wasn't getting sleepy.

You can bet your bottom dollar I was tired today. I woke up with no voice, and I was more emotional than usual (although who's to say whether that's from a lack of sleep or just getting my period... probably both). And so once I realized I had pretty much nothing to do for Monday, I decided to get back in bed immediately after dinner, and here I stay.
